Editorial policy
Coastal Civic Review aims to make coastal geography clear without making it sound simpler than it is. We distinguish explanation from opinion, check factual claims against suitable sources and avoid overstating what a map, photograph or general description can establish about a particular place.
Accuracy and context
We check names, definitions and factual statements before publication, and take care not to treat one shoreline or access arrangement as universal. Where a subject depends on local conditions or rules, we say so rather than offering instructions that readers might mistake for local guidance. Our articles are general editorial material, not professional or safety advice.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions and conclusions remain with Coastal Civic Review. A paid placement, sponsored contribution or other partner material is identified clearly as such and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. A collaboration does not guarantee favourable treatment, and partners do not determine our conclusions.
Corrections and illustrations
If you spot a factual error or an unclear statement, send the specific detail through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend published material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified so readers can distinguish an illustration from documentary imagery.
